The Breeders have bred again

After six years, the Breeders will finally be unleashing their fourth album, Mountain Battles, on the 7th of April. They’ll be on the road to celebrate the release with a whole slew of live dates between March and June, including appearances at such low key events as Canadian Music Week, Austin’s SxSW festival, and Coachella.

It looks as though the Deal twins and company are being pretty secretive about what the new record sounds like, though. They had one track streaming online for a total of 24 hours back in December, but that’s pretty much it for now. Their MySpace page is still trotting out the classics, which may not be a bad thing if you’re one of the few people that’s never heard the track “Cannonball” before. In the meantime, I guess we’ll all just have to be patient.
