Foo Fighters win sixth Grammy (not that I was watching)

Sunday night the Foo Fighters walked away from the Grammy Awards with trophies for Best Rock Album (Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace) and Best Hard Rock Performance (”The Pretender”), bringing the band’s tally up to six, including three for best album. Not bad when you consider ESP&G is only their sixth studio record. Kudos, Mr. Grohl and Co.

Apparently they even gave a pretty impressive performance of “The Pretender” with a little help from the My Grammy Moment Orchestra arranged and conducted by Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones. Looks like Chris Shiflett backed the right horse when he left No Use for a Name to go on the road with the Foos.

But hey, it was the Grammys, and I just couldn’t be bothered. I heard that Cirque du Soleil was going to pay homage to the Beatles and that was enough for me. Sturgeon postulated that 90% of everything is crud (the ’50’s equivalent of crap), but that’s being generous when it comes to industry award shows. No thanks.
