Win a Copy of The Travelling Band’s “The Redemption of Mr. Tom” EP

I got a nice surprise in my mailbox yesterday. It was jam-packed with lots of CDs for me to review, including three copies of The Redemption of Mr. Tom, the new EP by the Mancunian six-piece The Travelling Band. So I figured I should share my bounty with the world.
I only need one copy for myself (I’ve already given it a couple of spins, and can attest it’s a good listen), so I’m giving away the other two. All you have to do is fill out the form below and tell me why you deserve a copy and I’ll pick the best two answers and ship the discs accordingly.
This record has a fairly interesting story to it; it turns out that The Travelling Band’s Steve “Snaf” Ballinger was strumming a guitar and singing a couple of songs in a Brazilian hotel room when he caught the attention of New York native Richard Ross. Rather than call the manager and have him thrown out, Ross offered to take Ballinger back to New York to record him. Ballinger agreed, but only if his friends from Manchester could come to.
The result is four tracks of folk-tinged loveliness, at times reminiscent of The Byrds and like-minded bands from days of yore. It’s the follow-up to their critically acclaimed “If This is a Gag, I’m In” EP, and it’s also a preview of things to come (there’s a full-length release due this summer).
So fill out the form and tell me why you should have one of my extra copies post a comment below with a valid email address so you can enjoy this too and find out why they won the 2008 Glastonbury New Talent Competition. Winners will be determined on a first post/first served basis.
Anyone having anything whatsoever to do with the band or this website will have to secure a copy elsewhere.

For some reason, people didn’t want to take advantage of this one. Must’ve been a slow traffic week when I posted it. Anyway, I’m closing this thread to comments and offering the discs on this new page:
