All’s not so quiet on the waterfront
Don’t let the name fool you; the latest self-titled EP from Boston’s Alan Cohen Experience could lead you to believe that there’s a full-time band lead by a guy named Alan Cohen, but that’s really only part of the story. In actual fact, the Experience features Cohen, ex of the critically acclaimed Family Junction, and a revolving lineup of musicians who join Cohen in the studio to add whatever is needed to any particular track.
The six-song record, produced by Roger Greenawalt (The Pierces, Ben Kweller, Nils Lofgren), doesn’t drop until November 4th, but since I’ve got an in I’m going to share a track with the gitpop faithful so you can get a taste of what’s to come:

When not gigging with his ever-evolving Orchestra of Personality, the Beantown native can be found holed up in the studio; he’s already working on his next disc, a concept record based on Stephen Hawking’s book A Brief History of Time.
