This is a documentary produced by Dig for Fire looking at the scene in Manchester’s Chorlton-cum-Hardy neighbourhood and it’s recent development as far as new folk music is concerned.

Two thirds of The Travelling Band Jamming in somebody's living room
Transatlantic phone interviews are inherently problematic. You always run the risk of hearing static interference, having crossed wires that cause the audio from another dialog to obscure your conversation, or interviewing a soft-spoken subject with a thick Mancunian accent.

When I connect with Adam Gorman of Manchester’s The Travelling Band I hit the jackpot and get all three. Lucky me!

Bad connections be damned, this is rock and roll, and I’ve got a musician to interview.

The Travelling Band

I got a nice surprise in my mailbox yesterday. It was jam-packed with lots of CDs for me to review, including three copies of The Redemption of Mr. Tom, the new EP by the Mancunian six-piece The Travelling Band. So I figured I should share my bounty with the world.

I only need one copy for myself (I’ve already given it a couple of spins, and can attest it’s a good listen), so I’m giving away the other two. All you have to do is fill out the form below and tell me why you deserve a copy and I’ll pick the best two answers and ship the discs accordingly.
